Rated 5 out of 5 by overall quality is good Myself and many of my fellow workers love the pants. They are great in the field and serve well when we are not working as they double as very fine casual wear. The only thing all of us say is we wish they came in tan. Its a more versatile color and goes with everything. January 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by THE BEST Hands down the best work pants I have ever owned. Roomy pockets, durable material, great fit. I will never wear anything else. Have been a Ben Davis man for years but no longer. The pants are the "THE BEST". December 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Satisfied Purchased 2 pair of these pants. Fit great and lightweight material cool during summer months. Wish that more colors came in the larger sizes. Length runs a little long but just cuff them. Would definitely buy again. November 16, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Rip Stop feature isn't that great with reapeated use. Not well suited for shorter people. I'm an electrical technician. I work in automotive and industrial environments. I have 3 pairs of these. The gray, the dark green, and the black version. I've had these for over a year. I have worn them everyday, every week, cycling colors. Once color per week. I'm around 5-6 to 5-7 without boots and probably getting shorter as I age. But that's a different story. The reinforced leather on right side pocket along with the Ripstop material in the pockets are what sold me on these from the beginning. I thought, finally someone was thinking about someone who carries a work knife or tool everyday in their front pockets. I tend to carry screws, wirenutts, but-connectors, etc in the pockets (during work) along with a pocket utility knife in the right side front pocket and a flashlight (with a clip) in the front left pocket. I carry those two items everyday, at work or not. Consider it my EDC (everyday carry) items. Over a little bit of time (about 6 months in), here is what I've discovered. They don't make smaller lengths than a 30, which might be part of the reason the lower leg cuffs are a bit worn and frayed now. Those cuffs probably could have used that ripstop material. I've also developed a hole on the inside leg seam towards the bottom on the left. I don't understand that one. Both front pocket lips are a little worn and starting to fray, but hasn't bugged me much since I've had them so long, and wear them so much I've kind of expected it. What does bug me is the outer leather reinforcement, on the right pocket, is a little too thick and makes sliding certain knives or anything with a clip a bit tough, depending on the item. The leather patch also doesn't wrap around and down into the pocket, so it really only reinforces the outside of the pant. This is probably most for looks (it worked on me). I've had no problem with tearing or fraying on the front of that leather piece. So that is doing its job. It would be better if it was a tad thinner and wrapped completely around and down inside the pocket. The coin pocket directly behind the leather patch has worn completely through on my gray pants. It has a huge hole. The body of the knife itself wore through that coin pocket, holstering it in and out repeatedly. It would have been nice if they reinforced that back area. Maybe they should've used that ripstop material as the coin pocket itself. The other two pants I have show wear in that same area and will eventually wear through. Some small holes are starting to develop in the bottoms of the cargo pockets on the seams. Surprisingly, I've had no issues with the belt loops or back pockets, to date. I continue to wear them because they still "work" and are well broken-in and they're comfortable. They started out pretty stiff but wore-in pretty good once washed and worn a few times. Like most work pants, they don't really accommodate shorter people very well. They work, but could be better. The cargo pockets and knee pad insert seams just seem a little too low and do not sit in a well placed spot on the leg, making the person have to lean to either side to access items inside. And the lower corner portion of the cargo pockets touch my knees, when standing. Which means, if you have something sharp or heavy in there it may be smacking against your knee caps (if your my height). Overall, it is a nice set of work pants that got real popular real quick and now I see a lot of people wearing them, and it could be that same leather reinforcement patch that lured them in along with some friendly recommendations on the whole ripstop thing. I think it could use some re-designing, upgrades, if you will. I have since bought a different set of work pants, from a different manufacturer, to try out. I'll probably throw out the gray pair due to that hole in the pocket, but I'll wear the other two RIGGs as back ups and for lighter duty use around the house. Hope this helps someone. --That's my 2+ cents December 24, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good & bad Good pants, but... 1. The pleather front pocket protector is TOO Thick. NONE of my tape measures can slide onto the pocket nor my Every Day Carry knife. The clip will not travel over the material without help. I actually cut the stitches and remove the brown protector then re-sew the top of the pocket. (see pic) NOW my EDC knife (Benchmade) and tape measure fits onto the pocket. They need different material. 2. I remove the hammer holder. it might be nice for the one guy in the world that uses it but, that's what tool belts are for. That hammer loop does nothing but snag and catch everything I work around. I work on semiconductor machines. I would love to see the hammer holder removed. December 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by These are Great Pants The care and detail that was put into these pants just floored me. They are comfortable, durable and practical. Double layers of fabric on the knees and crotch along with snap closures, not velcro, assure me that these pants are going to last. The thinking involved in the design, and the quality of the materials are superior to any other work pants I have owned. November 21, 2015
