I purchased these jeans to replace worn out Riggs tradesman jeans. I wanted something lighter, where I work it gets quite hot due to the equipment in the building and the tradesman style was way too hot and thick. I got these in hopes they would be lighter without sacrificing build quality and I got what I wanted. The cut feels about the same as the tradesman style, with that wonderful crotch gusset, and the pockets are very close or exactly in the same spots, my hands know right where to put tools like as if they were the same jeans.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Gary062176 Great work jeans
first of all the loop isn't a hammer loop if you wanted a hammer loop by the carpenter jeans which are also a great jean fit the same way you just don't have the extra pocket on right side which fits my level or folding ruler perfectly, it probably wont fit your cell phones since that are becoming to big, there is pockets on left side which has 3 little ones for pens, pencils, & markers and another on the fits level also, they are a well constructed jean as I am a plumber and between jumping in and out of ditches or climbing in ceiling they are awesome last me well over year and fit me great for being short and husky

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Operator Comfortable, but not functional
The pants are cut well so they provide the comfort as advertised. As far as work pants go, however, they miss the mark. The "Utility Loop" on the left is useless. Too small for a valve wrench, flash light or even a hammer, I can't imagine why it's even there. The utility pockets on the left and right will accommodate linesman pliers or 2-cell "AA" flashlight, but not much else. They're both too small for a cell phone or safety glasses. Finally their are 3 "pen pouches" (?) on the left utility pocket, but they're too shallow and pens/pencils fall out.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by someoldlady Great reinforcement on the pocket.
My husband wore out all his pockets by shoving his tape measure on the edge. The reinforced pockets help this, but it would be nice if the patch was across the top of the whole pocket. He manages to get the tape on the patch part of the time, but he is still wearing out the top of his pocket, where he misses the patch.
