Annual Event Highlights Globally Recognized Denim Brand

Vintage-Inspired Wrangler ShortsGREENSBORO, N.C. (September 28, 2016) – Designers from Wrangler®, a leader in jeanswear and apparel, stole the show over the weekend by showcasing the creativity behind the fashion at the company’s North American headquarters.

As an iconic American jeansmaker, Wrangler is at the forefront of the vintage style movement. From the 1970s-inspired collection sold at Urban Outfitters to the retro styles worn by celebrities and fashion icons, the Wrangler brand is more trend-forward than ever before. At last weekend’s Greensboro Fashion Week (GSOFW), Wrangler designers presented key heritage products and looks ranging from casual everyday styles to bolder bohemian and western-influenced trends.

“Wrangler is always looking ahead – toward new industry trends, innovations in style and comfort, and one of a kind designs,” said Korie Lovette, Merchandise Manager at Wrangler. “Greensboro Fashion Week was a unique opportunity to showcase our hottest, fashion-forward products, and bring together worldwide trends on one stage.

As the title sponsor of GSOFW, Wrangler participated in a variety of events during the week of September 19, showcasing product lines for men, women and children. Wrangler designers also tapped into themes presented in its new national advertising campaign to show head-to-toe looks with customized jeans, denim jackets and other popular styles, urging audience members and consumers to be ready, be comfortable and embrace whatever the day holds.

Following on the heels of New York Fashion Week, GSOFW is an annual event celebrating creative talent in North Carolina’s Triad region, using the power of fashion to further community initiatives, charitable programs and educational opportunities. The experience also serves to rally support for the ongoing development and revitalization of the city’s central business district.

10/7/2013: Wrangler® Western Wear Expands Country Music Roster with Casey Donahew Band

Wrangler® Western Wear Expands Country Music Roster with Casey Donahew Band

Leading American Denim Brand Welcomes Texas Music Hit Maker to Iconic Line Up

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 7, 2013) – Wrangler® Western Wear – the leading western apparel brand – kicks up a little red dirt with the addition of popular country music group Casey Donahew Band to their elite list of music partnerships.

“With an avid fan following, a knack for inspiring and energizing the crowd during live performances, and a string of chart-topping singles, Casey Donahew Band is a fitting addition to the Wrangler family,” said Edyie Brooks-Bryant, senior manager of marketing and special events, Wrangler Specialty Apparel.

Filed under the Red Dirt genre of music, Casey Donahew Band conveys a unique sound that blends traditional country with rock 'n roll and blues – plus a Texas twist. Widely known for hits “White Trash Story,” “Stockyards,” and more recently “Whiskey Baby,” the band has a rich and powerful blend of strong vocals and solid rhythm that sets them apart from other acts in the category.

“Being a part of the Wrangler team is an honor any country band would be ecstatic to have,” said Casey Donahew. “Me and the guys have been fans of Wrangler jeans for years, so for us, it’s a dream come true!”

Wrangler Western has made an impact on the world of country music for decades with icons like the King of Country George Strait and hit-maker Jason Aldean. While George Strait collaborates with the brand on his signature line of shirts and jeans – the George Strait Cowboy Cut® Collection – and Jason Aldean is the face of his favorite collection of jeans – Wrangler Retro® – the Casey Donahew Band can be seen sporting the updated western styles of Wrangler 20X® jeans, and Rock 47™ by Wrangler and Wrangler Retro shirts.

8/26/2013: Wrangler® Launches Advanced Comfort Jean with Superior Comfort and Durability

Wrangler® Launches Advanced Comfort Jean with Superior Comfort and Durability

New Premium Performance Cowboy Cut jean allows cowboys more movement on the ranch and in the arena

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Aug. 26, 2013) – The iconic American denim brand – Wrangler® Western Wear – announced today the launch of the Advanced Comfort jean, a new addition to its Premium Performance Cowboy Cut (PPCC) collection. With the Advanced Comfort jean, Wrangler debuts a new fabric construction developed with a unique blend of fibers that results in denim that moves with the body for extreme comfort that lasts two-times longer. This jean is designed with the same fit benefits of PPCC – the latest jean representing the evolution of the 13MWZ, worn and loved by cowboys since 1947 – for the most comfortable jean yet.

While developing the Advanced Comfort jean, the Wrangler brand worked closely with its core consumer base to conduct extensive research through focus groups, and movement and fit observations to gather insights into what demands men have of their jeans. Ensuring the jeans were put through the types of rigorous activities men demand of them each day – whether they’re putting them to the test on the ranch or in the arena – testers were asked to bend, squat, and mount and dismount while wearing the jeans.

Two requirements stood above the rest: 1) a jean that allows movement for a more comfortable wearing experience, and 2) tough denim that works as hard as the man wearing them. Faced with the challenge, Wrangler responded with the Advanced Comfort jean that offers an increased range of motion for superior comfort that lasts twice as long.

“Our number one goal at Wrangler is to satisfy our consumers, and in order to do that we have to work with them to learn first-hand what they need from their jeans during specific wearing occasions,” said Phil McAdams, president, Wrangler Specialty Apparel. “The result of this collaboration is the Advanced Comfort jean’s combination of comfort and durability that’s currently unmatched in the western market.”

The Advanced Comfort jean will hit western specialty store shelves starting Oct. 1 available in three different washes: mid-stone, mid-tint, and stone bleach. The launch will be supported with high impact displays including a video monitor that illustrates how the jean works in action, retailer associate incentive programs and fit-testing and training sessions, as well as consumer gift-with-trial promotions. Marketing support will include national TV, print, radio, and online advertising featuring 10-time All-Around World Champion Cowboy Trevor Brazile.

“I’ve been loyal to my favorite Wrangler jeans since as long as I can remember, but I’m happy to say I started wearing the Advanced Comfort jean during competition, too,” said Trevor Brazile. “It lets me move in the saddle, is comfortable throughout a long day, and has the Wrangler fit I love.”

The Premium Performance Cowboy Cut jean fit and functional features include more comfortable waist, flat comfort inseams, larger scoop front pockets, and a redesigned watch pocket large enough for a cell phone. MVP QB joins Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brett Favre to Promote Denim Icon

GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 23, 2013) – Days away from the NFL Draft, one accomplished quarterback announced his plans for the upcoming year. This season, Drew Brees, one of the most decorated and respected quarterbacks in the NFL, will wear the denim blue of the Wrangler® brand in addition to the black and gold of the New Orleans Saints. Brees, who will join Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brett Favre as endorsers of the iconic denim brand, will be featured in upcoming marketing campaigns, scheduled to launch in August.

The newest member of the Wrangler team is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks ever to play in the NFL, with a Super Bowl ring, the NFL’s single-season passing record (5,476 yards), and a reputation as a driving force behind the New Orleans Saints and the city of New Orleans since 2006. Brees has shown leadership and unwavering dedication to the sport since a young boy when he led his high school team to a perfect regular-season record and a state championship. The momentum continued as Brees stood out at Purdue University taking the team to a Big Ten Championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl. He was also honored as a two-time Heisman finalist.

“Both on and off the field, Drew has proven himself to be a determined, down-to-earth man that many people look up to and respect,” said Craig Errington, Vice President of Wrangler marketing. “His dependability, work ethic and family values make him a natural fit for Wrangler. He epitomizes the core values of our brand, and we look forward to cheering him on during the 2013 season and beyond.”

Brees’ passion doesn’t end when he walks off the field - he injects his strong work ethic and enthusiasm into everything he does, especially with regard to his family and charity, The Brees Dream Foundation. The ;Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients as well as providing care, education and opportunities for children and families in need. Since 2003, Brittany and Drew Brees and the Brees Dream Foundation have collectively committed over $17,000,000 to worthy causes globally.

“When I’m off the field I just want to be comfortable,” said Brees. “Wrangler jeans help me do just that. I’ve always admired Wrangler and what the brand stands for, and am honored to be a part of this partnership.”

Brees will be featured in national advertising, promotions and in-store signage for the Wrangler Five Star Premium Denim line. The line is available nationwide at value-minded retailers like Walmart, Kmart and Target, and offers consumers top quality men’s clothing priced around $20.

Wrangler® Western Announces the Ultimate Cowgirl Next Door

Online Contest Finds New Face to Appear in Leading Western Apparel Brand Ads

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Sept. 30, 2011) – Wrangler® Western Wear – the iconic American denim brand and leading manufacturer of western apparel – today announced Taryn Hale of Mesa, Ariz., as the winner of the Ultimate Cowgirl Next Door Contest. The Facebook® search for the next model of The Ultimate

Riding Jean™ by Wrangler received entries from women who can ride, rodeo and rock Wrangler jeans.

“With such phenomenal women representing our lifestyle, including Jackie Rapp and Tammy Pate, appearing in previous Wrangler ads, we knew the winner of the contest would have big boots to fill,” said Robin Rich, senior marketing manager, Wrangler Western Wear. “We’re thrilled to have found Taryn, a true cowgirl in every sense of the word who beautifully represents the western lifestyle and the values our brand stands for.”

More than 350 women entered into the contest, but it was Taryn’s riding and rodeo experience, knowledge of the Wrangler brand, and respect of the western lifestyle that led her to the top of the list. Look for Taryn to appear in The Ultimate Riding Jean print advertisements beginning early next year.

The search for the cowgirl to represent The Ultimate Riding Jean was an important one to the brand for many reasons. When Wrangler set out to develop a riding jean for women in 2008, they partnered with the women of the American Quarter Horse Association and the advertisements have honored this relationship ever since. The brand conducted extensive research to determine what women want and need, and the result was a jean with performance features second to none in the western industry. Combining function, fit, comfort and style, The Ultimate Riding Jean collection captures the freedom, independence and beauty inherent in every cowgirl.
